This project features a real-time interactive visual system designed for a live stage performance. My role covered the complete development cycle—from establishing the motion capture setup to rendering the generative graphics on a large-scale LED backdrop.

Technical Implementation & Visual Design: The core of the project was built around a Kinect and TouchDesigner pipeline. Using the sensor’s depth data, I captured the dancer’s silhouette and spatial coordinates. Within TouchDesigner, this 3D data was used to reconstruct the performer’s physical figure entirely out of digital particles.

As the dancer moved across the stage, their particle-based digital twin reacted to the kinematics of the choreography. The system was designed so that the movement velocity triggered the emission of new particles, creating dynamic, flowing trails that extended from the performer’s body. This setup allowed the generative graphics to act as a responsive, real-time extension of the dancer’s movements.
